Oil top-up or oil change? Buy for the right task
Adding oil restores the level; scheduled oil and filter replacement is a separate task.

Two tasks, two quantities
A top-up adds the permitted oil to bring the level into the range specified by the vehicle procedure. An oil change replaces used oil and involves the filter as required by the maintenance schedule. Adding a small quantity does not mean the scheduled oil change has been completed. Keep the service date and mileage separate from any top-up record.
Check the level using your vehicle procedure
Some vehicles use a dipstick and others an electronic display. The required parking conditions, engine temperature and waiting time can differ. Follow your own handbook rather than a universal timing rule. Do not pour in an entire bottle simply because you purchased it; the amount needed depends on the measured level and vehicle instructions.
Match the oil already required by the engine
Use the full viscosity, performance specification and manufacturer approval required by your vehicle. If you do not know what oil is in the engine, obtain the service record or ask qualified service support before choosing a top-up product. The same brand or grade on two bottles does not by itself establish equivalence.
Choose a pack after confirming quantity
A 1L bottle may suit a confirmed small top-up requirement, while an oil change may require several litres. Pack volume is not engine capacity. Confirm the service-fill quantity and whether the filter is included in that figure. If oil repeatedly needs adding, ask a qualified technician to investigate rather than treating repeated purchases as the solution.
