Fully synthetic vs part-synthetic engine oil: what to compare
Check the formulation type alongside viscosity, standards and approvals.
Check the formulation on the exact product

Range names alone do not establish oil type or suitability. Read the supplied pack and current manufacturer data.
Fully synthetic, part synthetic and mineral: what changes?
These terms describe the oil’s formulation type. Part-synthetic oil blends mineral and synthetic base oils. Fully synthetic and mineral oils are different formulation categories. Products still need the correct viscosity and performance specifications; a type label by itself is not a complete vehicle recommendation.
Check the exact formulation and manufacturer product data rather than assigning a type to every oil under one brand. Product names and label descriptions can vary between ranges and markets.
Is fully synthetic always the right choice?
Choose an oil meeting all the requirements for your exact engine. If fully synthetic oil is specified, a lower-price part-synthetic bottle is not a replacement simply because both display the same viscosity. Likewise, a fully synthetic label does not replace an approval required by your vehicle.
Keep viscosity, performance standards and manufacturer approvals as separate checks. For imported and GCC vehicles, use the handbook for the exact engine and market version.
Compare oil prices after matching the formulation
Start with the UAE catalogue and AED pack prices. Open the exact product and compare the labelled volume; a 1L bottle and a 4L bottle buy different quantities. Our pack-price guide explains the calculated price per litre.
Browse Castrol EDGE, Mobil, Shell, MOTUL or all brands, then verify the complete product specification. These links are range options, not confirmation that every product has the same formulation type.
Changing oil type or choosing a top-up
Do not set a longer oil-change interval merely because a bottle says fully synthetic. Follow the vehicle’s service schedule and its conditions. For a top-up, check the required specification and the oil already being used; ask for vehicle-specific guidance if uncertain.
Send the full product name, handbook specification, required quantity and delivery area to our team. Confirm availability and the final quotation, including any separately quoted oil-change service.
